some important info-
1. i knit, especially things for babies. this is because everyone i know is of childbearing age and has decided to pursue childbearing aggressively.
2. i have two dachshunds.
3. sometimes, these two things collide.
guthrie has no shame and is roughly the size of a newborn-3month old. although his legs aren't ever in the right place, sometimes i slap a dress on him just to see how it will hang. this is some dreamy yarn- 100% silk from italy. there are bloomers to match, and although guthrie's hindquarter are pretty meaty, he's got that bothersome tail so those never fit him. the dress ties at the back of the neck and this hound simply wouldn't sit long enough for the tying. still, he's a pretty good sport to model such things.

If I tried it with my dachsie, he would shred it! 'Nuff said. BTW: I love Guthrie.
guthrie is more pliable than most dogs, possibly because he spent his baby time with cats.
the dress went to a friend who started having contractions yesterday and should deliver a small girl by monday. when i get a photo of the human in the dress, i'll post them together.
we love guthrie quite a bit, too, in spite of his poop eating and toilet paper eating and his habit of peeing while running through the house.
holy crap, i laughed so much. poor little, slow-witted guthrie. the things you do to him.
both dogs seem to like dressing up. i always thought it was stupid but our landlord controls the heat in winter and a started making sweaters to keep the little beasts warm. when they see their sweaters in winter, they jump around. even max.
